Better Late Than Never



Current junior champion Alex Cannon starts preparation for the new season. Alex is moving up into the 2ltr class and is tasked with lots of modifications to the Carlton Baker Clarke ltd MK2 Escort.



First job is to fit the new tunnel with involves a lot of fabrication work. The next task is to rebuild the RS2000 engine and Gearbox.

Ten Pin Bowling Evening

Ten Pin Bowling Evening at Madison Heights, Maldon followed by “Eat as much as you like” Oriental Buffet at Izumi Restaurant, next door.

2 games of bowling plus the buffet for only £21.75 per person.

Bowling starts at 1900, dinner at 2130.

Scrutineering starts 8.00 am
Closes 8.45 am

Starts 9.00 am

Stage 1 starts 9.30

Regs for the day

1 under 17 entry fee £ 15.00
2 over 17 entry fee £ 35.00
3 all competitors to produce membership cards at signing on
4 all cars to run with delado door squares rally plates and noise test stickers
5 cars sharing main number to be on the door square the second number to be displayed on the rear side window in day glow numbers
Number that is not in use to be taped over
6 cars to run in numerical order
7 morning stages will consist of 3 stages of 2 laps
8 afternoon stages will consist of 3 stages of 2 laps
9 any one competing for the first time who has not got a full driving licence must complete a 1 hour driving lesson with baz before they will be able to compete call 01621 819228 to book
NOTE

Any one wishing to clean or check over there cars can do so on the Saturday we are open 9to 12 noon


Noise test meter is also available for any one who thinks there car may be over the limit

New club house will be open after the event
For refreshments 5.00pm to 6.30


On the day the café will be open serving hot and cold drinks

Please advise spectators that they will have to park at oak farm and walk down to the stage

Most important any one wishing to marshal must be a member of the club.

Please note speed limit in service area is dead slow

And the drive way down to the track is also dead slow no racing down to the track please

Competitors will have to pay a additional £ 2.00 when signing on this will go to the marshals fund thanks

Rules 2008

RULES OF DE LADO MOTOR CLUB

1 NAME

1.1 The name of the Club shall be De Lado Motor Club (here after referred to as the “Club”.

1.2 The Clubs address will be De Lado Motor Club, Barn 1, Oak Farm, Loamy Hill Road, Tolleshunt Major, Maldon, Essex, CM9 8LS.

2 OBJECTIVES

2.1 To promote the sport and pastime of motor rallying and to encourage social intercourse between the members of the club

2.2 To hold, arrange motoring events, rallysprints and competitions in accordance with the agreed procedures of the Club.

2.3 To arrange meetings, lectures and social gatherings as required by the members and to offer or contribute towards the provision of prizes and awards and to promote and support an annual awards evening.

2.4 To provide members with information, advice and assistance on matters connected with motoring and motorsport.

2.5 To afford members such benefits and privileges as it may be possible to arrange.

2.6 Members of the Club may, with prior approval of the majority of the other club members, be paid reasonable out of pocket expenses whilst engaged on Club business

3. MEMBERSHIP

3.1 Senior Membership is open to any person who has reached the age of 17. Junior membership is open to any person aged between 12 and 17 years.

3.2 The number of members will be limited to 30 senior and 20 junior members.

3.3 All applicants for membership to the Club shall sign a Form of Application stating their name, address, and agreeing to be bound by the rules of the club. Applicants for junior membership must have their application approved and counter signed by their parent/guardian.

3.4 The annual subscription shall become due on the first day of January each year and shall remain valid until the 31 December of the same year.

3.5 Any member joining after the first day of August in any year shall pay 50 per cent of the annual subscription fee.

3.6 Any member whose subscription has not been paid by 31st July in any year will automatically cease to be a member of the Club.

3.7 No member whose subscription is in arrears shall participate in any activity of the Club or be entitled to receive any benefit from their membership, or be entitled to any award.

3.8 No candidate whose application for membership of the Club has been refused shall re-apply within twelve months of the rejection, nor shall they take part in any Club activities.

4 MEMBERSHIP FEES

4.1 A membership fee (as announced on 1 January each year) shall be charged for all membership categories of the Club.

4.2 Membership fees shall not be refundable.

5 RESIGNATION

5.1 Any member wishing to resign their membership shall inform the Secretary in writing with reasons and date of when the resignation takes effect. Any member not renewing their fee by 31 July shall be deemed to have resigned.
6 EXPULSION OF MEMBERS

6.1 Any Club member who is found to be guilty of conduct that is prejudicial to the Club, its activities, or motorsport in general may be expelled from the club.

6.2 A special meeting will be held that will be open to any member that may wish to attend. The member whose expulsion is under consideration shall be given at least 7 days notice of such a meeting and shall be allowed to offer an explanation of their conduct verbally or in writing. If two thirds of the members present vote for their expulsion they will cease to be a member of the Club.

7 OBSERVANCE AND INTERPRETATION OF RULES

7.1 Every member binds himself or herself to abide by the rules of the Club and also any modifications made thereof.

8 AMENDMENT TO RULES

8.1 Amendments to the rules can only be made if two thirds of the members agree to the changes.

9 BADGES AND TROPHIES

9.1 All perpetual trophies remain the property of the Club and shall be returned upon request or after eleven months which ever is the sooner.

10 LIABILITY

10.1 The liability of the members is limited.

10.2 Every member of the Club undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Club, in the event of the same being wound up while they are a member, or within one year after they cease to be a member, for payment of the debts and liabilities of the Club contracted before they ceased to be a member, and the costs, charges and expenses of winding up, such amount as may be required not exceeding £1

10.3 The club shall not be liable for

A) Any claim made in respect of any costs incurred by a member whilst pursuing the activities of the Club unless previously agreed by a two thirds majority of members

B) Any claims concerning injury, damage or loss, no matter how incurred.

TECHNICAL REGULATIONS

Junior competitors

Permitted ages 12 years old to under 17 years old

Vehicle regulations

1 two wheel drive only
2 standard engine and gearbox
3 max cc 1400
4 standard body work arches and none standard spoilers permitted
5 standard brakes
6 all suspension pick up points to remain in standard position
7 interior trim may be removed
8 glass may be replaced by Perspex. standard front screen has to be retained
9 exh system must be under 84dbs (max 84dbs )
10 standard light units must be taped
11 rear diff ratios may be changed for none standard
12 the use of a lsd is also permitted
Senior competitors

1 vehicles are limited to 2.5 litres normally aspirated
2 transmissions and ratios are free
3 vehicles are limited to two wheel drive only
4 suspension and pick up points free
5 brakes and lines free
6 vehicles must retain front screen laminated
7 fuel tanks must have fire wall if mounted inside the body shell
8 wheels and tyres are free
9 exh systems as quiet as possible please max 84dbs


ALL VEHICLE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING

1 battery master switch in reach of the driver out side stop cable must be fitted
2 mud flaps fitted to all wheels
3 rally bucket seat in good condition and proper floor fixings
4 a min of a 4 point harness
5 steering wheel may be changed if standard is used air bags to be disabled
6 all vehicle to carry DE LADO door squares
7 competitors must have a crash helmet in good condition and driving overalls again in good condition
this will be left to the scrutineer’s discretion if any doubts check with baz cannon
8 batteries must be securely clamped down if in Copt pit area must be sealed in a protective box
9 toe eyes front and rear must be clearly marked
10 all competitors will retain the same door numbers all season and must run with delado door squares

11 all cars must have at least rear roll cages fitted
12 competitors wishing to take passengers must have a min of 4 point harness fitted and recommended to have proper rally seat fitted
13 car sharing the second number to be displayed on the rear windows the numbers to be proper numbers and they must be displayed on a white back ground
14 all cars competing in the championship must display the new delado rally plates which will be available at the start of the season
15 all cars to have a fire extinguisher fitted
