RULES OF DE LADO MOTOR CLUB

1 NAME

1.1 The name of the Club shall be De Lado Motor Club (here after referred to as the “Club”.

1.2 The Clubs address will be De Lado Motor Club, Barn 1, Oak Farm, Loamy Hill Road, Tolleshunt Major, Maldon, Essex, CM9 8LS.

2 OBJECTIVES

2.1 To promote the sport and pastime of motor rallying and to encourage social intercourse between the members of the club

2.2 To hold, arrange motoring events, rallysprints and competitions in accordance with the agreed procedures of the Club.

2.3 To arrange meetings, lectures and social gatherings as required by the members and to offer or contribute towards the provision of prizes and awards and to promote and support an annual awards evening.

2.4 To provide members with information, advice and assistance on matters connected with motoring and motorsport.

2.5 To afford members such benefits and privileges as it may be possible to arrange.

2.6 Members of the Club may, with prior approval of the majority of the other club members, be paid reasonable out of pocket expenses whilst engaged on Club business

3. MEMBERSHIP

3.1 Senior Membership is open to any person who has reached the age of 17. Junior membership is open to any person aged between 12 and 17 years.

3.2 The number of members will be limited to 30 senior and 20 junior members.

3.3 All applicants for membership to the Club shall sign a Form of Application stating their name, address, and agreeing to be bound by the rules of the club. Applicants for junior membership must have their application approved and counter signed by their parent/guardian.

3.4 The annual subscription shall become due on the first day of January each year and shall remain valid until the 31 December of the same year.

3.5 Any member joining after the first day of August in any year shall pay 50 per cent of the annual subscription fee.

3.6 Any member whose subscription has not been paid by 31st July in any year will automatically cease to be a member of the Club.

3.7 No member whose subscription is in arrears shall participate in any activity of the Club or be entitled to receive any benefit from their membership, or be entitled to any award.

3.8 No candidate whose application for membership of the Club has been refused shall re-apply within twelve months of the rejection, nor shall they take part in any Club activities.

4 MEMBERSHIP FEES

4.1 A membership fee (as announced on 1 January each year) shall be charged for all membership categories of the Club.

4.2 Membership fees shall not be refundable.

5 RESIGNATION

5.1 Any member wishing to resign their membership shall inform the Secretary in writing with reasons and date of when the resignation takes effect. Any member not renewing their fee by 31 July shall be deemed to have resigned.
6 EXPULSION OF MEMBERS

6.1 Any Club member who is found to be guilty of conduct that is prejudicial to the Club, its activities, or motorsport in general may be expelled from the club.

6.2 A special meeting will be held that will be open to any member that may wish to attend. The member whose expulsion is under consideration shall be given at least 7 days notice of such a meeting and shall be allowed to offer an explanation of their conduct verbally or in writing. If two thirds of the members present vote for their expulsion they will cease to be a member of the Club.

7 OBSERVANCE AND INTERPRETATION OF RULES

7.1 Every member binds himself or herself to abide by the rules of the Club and also any modifications made thereof.

8 AMENDMENT TO RULES

8.1 Amendments to the rules can only be made if two thirds of the members agree to the changes.

9 BADGES AND TROPHIES

9.1 All perpetual trophies remain the property of the Club and shall be returned upon request or after eleven months which ever is the sooner.

10 LIABILITY

10.1 The liability of the members is limited.

10.2 Every member of the Club undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Club, in the event of the same being wound up while they are a member, or within one year after they cease to be a member, for payment of the debts and liabilities of the Club contracted before they ceased to be a member, and the costs, charges and expenses of winding up, such amount as may be required not exceeding £1

10.3 The club shall not be liable for

A) Any claim made in respect of any costs incurred by a member whilst pursuing the activities of the Club unless previously agreed by a two thirds majority of members

B) Any claims concerning injury, damage or loss, no matter how incurred.
